IATUL Directors’ Summit
and keynote presentations
- depending upon the local situation -
the exchange of experiences
The IATUL Directors’ Summit is open to directors of university and research libraries.
The purpose is to facilitate the exchange of experiences in order to help analyze the local library services and needs. The context for the summit can be the library infrastructure in developing countries, or library networking among different cultures, or challenges related to new technology, to name a few.
The Summit uses round table discussions (World Café) preceded by keynote presentations, introducing the topics/questions to be taken up at each table. IATUL envisages a duration of two days, including discussion sessions analyzing the results of discussions that may lead to IATUL initiatives. The number of participants can vary from 20 to 60 delegates, depending upon the local situation. Inclusion of a social programme for accompanying persons and delegates should be considered.
